WHAT'S HAPPENING IN 2010...

AUGUST - Students recieve outstanding results in the June RAD Vocational Examinations. Grade students were so excited to have their grade examinations in the new studios for the first time. There really is a "wonderful" vibe and spirit in the school at the moment and this is evident in so many happy students and families.

JULY - Congratulations to Tiffany who was awarded the under 10 classical aggregates at Bendigo and Warrnambool Eisteddfods; Madelyn & Eliza were dually awarded first in the Junior Ballet Championship under 12 years and Georgia was awarded honourable mention; Vanessa was 3rd in the Commonwealth Championship under 14 and Alexia HM in the Commonwealth Cup. Alexia also won the Bendigo Classical Championship for the second consecutive year and Laura G received HM. Sarah was placed third in the Warrnambool Championship. Tahnee was awarded the “Most Potential” award under 12 and Alexia “Most Potential” award over 12 years. Tiffany won the Grand Aggregate Trophy for the most points in Classical Dance.

ACSOD students won the Bendigo classical “School Aggregate” for solo performances.

I am amazed at how the standard has lifted, yet again and how many prizes the students combined have been awarded over the last month. Quite astounding!  All the effort and hard work has certainly been worth it. Congratulations to all our wonderful students and teaching faculty. 

JUNE - Students selected for the semi-final and finals of the Ballet Teachers Workshop of Victoria Scholarships. Congratulations to: Alexia, Georgia, Vanessa, Arley, Sean, Eoghan, Ada, Maidie, Erin, Tahnee and Samantha. Sophie & Ellie (Enc. Awards).

JUNE - Congratulations to Tiffany who won the under 10 Hamilton aggregate and Alexia who was awarded the open aggregate. Also to Ada who was awarded the Junior Encouragement Award and Samantha the “on the spot” award. Vanessa was awarded a scholarship to the Australian Ballet Summer School worth approx $600. Vanessa was awarded 1st prize in all 4 sections she entered. Wow..Alexia was the winner of the Senior Classical Championship with Laura G, runner up. Vanessa was placed third & Taylah HM. All four of these students are part of the ACSOD “Vocational Program”.  Alexia was award the Sinclair Wilson Award.  Well done to everyone! What a fabulous Hamilton Eisteddfod.

MAY - Student Aleixa awarded vocational Advanced 'Autumn school' RAD Scholarship. Senior students attend Vocational exams in Melb.

APRIL - Classes with Ballet Master Mr Paul DeMasson.  "Stage craft" master classes for aspiring students.

MARCH - Students Samantha & Georgia are awarded Performing Arts Scholarships (Dance) for 2011, Ballarat Grammar School. Student Leah awarded a BCC Performing Arts Scholarship (Vocal) for 2011.  

FEBRUARY - Guest classes with Marc Cassidy from the Australian Ballet Company. Students & Families share a special excitenent in the new studios durung term one.  Ballarat's first vocational dance program commences with former Principal of the Australian Ballet, Ms Lisa Bolte
